Burgers and More at Big Bite, Los Angeles – A Quick Review

Los Angeles is home to some of the best food in the world, with an ever-growing variety of restaurants offering everything from street tacos to gourmet sushi. However, one category that never seems to go out of style in this city is the humble burger. During a recent visit to Big Bite, a burger joint located in the heart of LA, I had the chance to experience firsthand what has quickly become one of the city’s most popular burger destinations. With a reputation for serving high-quality, mouthwatering burgers alongside a solid selection of sides, Big Bite has quickly earned a loyal following among locals and visitors alike.

Ambiance: Casual and Inviting

From the outside, Big Bite doesn’t look like much—just a simple, no-frills establishment tucked in a corner with a clean, minimalistic exterior. But stepping inside, I was immediately drawn to the welcoming atmosphere. The space is cozy yet modern, with industrial elements like exposed brick, polished concrete floors, and bright neon lights that add a playful touch to the vibe. There’s an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work, flipping patties and assembling burgers, which adds a sense of excitement to the whole experience. It’s the kind of place where you can pop in for a casual meal, whether you’re on the go or looking to hang out with friends.

The Menu: A Burger Lover’s Dream

As soon as I opened the menu, I could tell that Big Bite wasn’t just any ordinary burger joint. The selection is varied, with something for everyone. There are classic options like cheeseburgers and bacon burgers, but also unique creations that push the boundaries of what you might expect from a burger place. From the start, it was clear that the focus was on quality—whether that meant fresh, never frozen beef patties or high-quality buns, everything on the menu was designed to provide an elevated experience.

I opted for their signature Big Bite Burger, which is a perfect reflection of what the restaurant does best. It features a juicy, hand-formed beef patty, melted cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a special sauce all stacked on a freshly toasted brioche bun. As soon as the burger was placed in front of me, I could tell it was going to be a treat. The burger was stacked high, with each ingredient clearly visible, and the colors were vibrant. The moment I took my first bite, I was hooked.

The beef patty was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and flavorful without being overly greasy. The cheddar cheese was perfectly melted, adding a creamy richness to every bite. The crispy bacon added the perfect salty crunch, and the fresh vegetables provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meat. The special sauce was tangy with just the right amount of kick, pulling everything together. The brioche bun, which is often an afterthought at many burger places, was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything in place without falling apart halfway through the meal. This burger was an absolute standout.

The Sides: Classic Comfort with a Twist

As much as I was enjoying my burger, I knew I couldn’t leave without trying a couple of the sides that Big Bite is also known for. The menu features a selection of classic sides with a twist, and I decided to go for the Truffle Fries and the Onion Rings.

The Truffle Fries were a revelation. Hand-cut and fried to golden perfection, they were tossed in just the right amount of truffle oil and topped with freshly grated parmesan. The truffle flavor was bold but not overwhelming, and the fries themselves were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The addition of parmesan elevated the fries to something truly indulgent, making them the perfect complement to the burger.

The Onion Rings were another standout. The batter was crispy and light, without being too thick or greasy, allowing the sweet onion flavor to shine through. They were served with a tangy dipping sauce that added a little extra zing. I found myself munching on them between bites of my burger, enjoying the contrast in flavors and textures. Both sides were definitely worthy of a second helping.

A Few Other Menu Highlights

Though I stuck with the classic Big Bite Burger, I couldn’t help but glance over the rest of the menu and be tempted by the other options. Big Bite offers a variety of burgers, including a spicy Jalapeño Cheddar Burger, a decadent BBQ Bacon Burger, and even a Veggie Burger made with a plant-based patty for those who prefer a meatless option. There’s also a selection of specialty fries, including Sweet Potato Fries and Loaded Fries topped with cheese, bacon, and a tangy sauce—perfect for anyone craving something indulgent.

For anyone who’s craving something a little different, the Fried Chicken Sandwich is another popular choice, featuring crispy fried chicken, pickles, and spicy mayo on a soft bun. And of course, there’s a selection of milkshakes, including chocolate, vanilla, and a delicious Oreo Milkshake for anyone with a sweet tooth.
